faces painted red

lifeless bodies

tremble no more

the sea of slaughter

stained with defeat

sprawled across

like a wound

dangling dry

in the sweltering sun

a maelstrom

of mixed emotions

succumb to

this black and pitless

void called humanity…

these thoughts they linger to no end

silent mornings…

I stare silently into the bottom of my coffee cup as the spirals begin to form.
I am lost for words.It’s calm and reposed. The stillness of my breath blankets
my mind. All my thoughts they fold and slip pass through my fingers and onto the
cold floor. Like glass they shatter and die.
